This vintage double weight portrait shows silent film star Louise Brooks as she appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1925. Brooks appeared as a scantily-clad dancer and chorus girl in Ziegfeld’s famous stage production in New York City early in her career and was there discovered by Paramount Pictures producer Walter Wanger who signed her to a Hollywood studio contract.
During the period in which this autograph was given, Brooks had relocated to New York to begin what was hailed as her second career, that of a film writer and essayist.
Brooks has signed and inscribed the oversize photo Warner Brothers publicity man Robert Graham Wahn in 1965. “Louise Brooks 1925. To Graham Wahn from Louise, 1965” in blue ink.
